Program Requirements

Please find below a concise summary of the key prerequisites for admission into the MadinaHouse Sober Living Home Programs. It is important to note that this information is intended as a general reference and is not exhaustive.

  • Recovery Requirements

    - At least 30 days of sobriety. It is highly preferred to have a direct admission into the Sober Living Home from a licensed drug and alcohol treatment program.

    - Attend drug and alcohol support groups daily and regularly throughout the stay (30 meetings in 30 days). Members are required to fill out meeting log sheets daily.

    - Submit regular drug and alcohol testing immediately upon request.

    - Use of alcohol or drugs means you need a higher level of care. However, for the safety of the rest of the house it results in automatic expulsion from the program, and you will be asked to leave immediately. Any refusal is a safety issue and results in the immediate involvement of local law enforcement. If program members leave amicably, we work with them to get into a higher level of care and are eligible to apply back to the house.

  • Financial Requirements

    - Move-In Costs are due before arrival (cost varies on location). Our program level of care is not covered by insurance.

    - We DO NOT want family members to pay program fees for their loved ones. Family members may be allowed to pay initial move-in costs as a loan to their loved one, but the goal of the program is to develop life skills and independence.

    - If members are unemployed, they must find and maintain employment immediately on arrival. Most members find a job within 3-5 days. If individuals do not fill out job search logs daily or find work, they will be asked to leave the program ***

    - Pay all program fees and house fees (if any) throughout stay. All program fees are non-refundable so individuals should be confident in their ability to follow the program rules before entering the home.

    - Individuals must provide for their own meals, transportation, and other expenses (i.e. cell phone bills, clothing, or outings). Multiple food pantries are within walking distance.

  • Community Living Requirements

    - Abide by house rules, a copy will be provided upon arrival. Daily cleaning of space and communal areas is strictly enforced.

    - House meetings are mandatory weekly meetings to discuss program rules. Respect and exhibit excellent manners with other program members at all times. House members share common areas, kitchen, and attend meetings together.

    - Any breaking of house rules or damage to property results in fines, fees, restriction of privileges, expulsion from program, or even criminal charges.

    - Theft will not be tolerated. We recommend not bringing valuable items to the house.

    - Drug paraphernalia, illicit substances, alcohol, weapons, knives, or other harmful objects are prohibited.
